Mauro Magatti
He is Sociologist and economist, graduated in Economics social science (DES) at the Bocconi University in Milan in 1984, he received his PhD in Social Sciences in Canterbury (UK) in 1991.

University researcher since 1994 at the Faculty of Political Sciences of the Catholic University of Milan, since 2002 he is a full professor in General Sociology.

From 2006 to 2012 he was Dean of the Faculty of Sociology at the Catholic University of Milan where he teaches Sociology (Advanced Course) and Analysis and Institutions of Contemporary Capitalism

Visiting professor at the Ecole des Hautes etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris (2007), Notre Dame University (2013) and Sciences Po (2017) gave lectures and seminars at the Universide Catolica of Buenos Aires, Lassalle University Mexico City, Yale Universty. New Haven, Humbolrdt University Berlin, Catholic University of Lima, Ritsumeikan University Kyoto.

She is currently a Permanent Research Fellow of the Center for Ethics and Culture of Notre Dame University (US).

He has been a member of the Global Studies Association and of the Italian Committee of Social Sciences. He is a member of the board of directors of the L. Sturzo Institute of Rome.

Since 2008 he has been director of the Center for the Anthropology of Religion and Cultural Change (ARC) at the UCSC in Milan.

Over the years, he has published numerous monographs and essays in Italian and foreign magazines, participating in international university networks and directing projects for agencies such as the EU, the European Science Foundation, MIUR, the Ministry of Labor, the Lombardy Region, the Milan Chamber of Commerce, Caritas Italian, Cariplo Foundation, Pastore Foundation, Agnelli Foundation, Edison Foundation, Banca Intesa.

He is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Political Anthropology, of the Scientific Committee of Sociology and of the Editorial Board of Sociology Studies, and of Social Updates.

He is a member of the Central Charity Committee of the Cariplo Foundation. since 2016 he is secretary of the Social Weeks of Italian Catholics. He is part of the Scientific Committee of the Cortile dei Gentili.

He is founder of the Archive of the Social Generativia.

He is a columnist for Il Corriere della Sera and Avvenire.
